The Katinvuma clan takes the katinvuma seed as its omuziro, the primary totem. Its akabbiro, the secondary totem, is recorded as all kinds of beads. Drawn from Roscoe (1911); this page grows as further sources are reviewed.
Roscoe (1911), listing the clans of Buganda with their totems, records the katinvuma seed (Katinvuma) as the omuziro of this clan, with all kinds of beads as its akabbiro. Roscoe also marks it among the clans that attached themselves to another clan. Katinvuma is a small shrub seed, originally used for beads. Roscoe records that this clan joined the Mushroom clan. Spelling follows Roscoe’s 1911 transcription and awaits native-speaker review.
